Imagine a camping fire. It's easy to stare into it and watch it slowly burn down. Maybe you add a few logs from time to time. It's soothing, relaxing, almost meditative to lose yourself in your thoughts while observing the process. There's something about the burning wood that keeps you entertained, even though nothing dramatic or unexpected is about to happen. The small crackles vary in intensity, and maybe the slightly louder pop from five minutes ago was the highlight of the show. Still, you don't stare into the fire because you’re about to experience the most exciting moment of your life. It's just... nice. The inspiration for this audiovisual installation comes from exactly this kind of phenomenon. Fire is one example, but there are many others — like rain. What connects them is a mix of chaos and randomness, combined with recognizable patterns and repetitions. They're unpredictable, but not overwhelming. They hold your attention in a quiet and unconventional way. This work is an attempt to translate those qualities into an interactive artistic experience.
